Chia Pudding
Submitted by: INES (Madrid, Spain)
Over the last few weeks, I’ve discovered a new and very tasty recipe with chia seeds. It’s easy, healthy and customisable! I personally love to have my chia pudding in the morning because it’s fun to make and gives me a lot of energy to start the day.
Chia seeds are very nutritious, being very high in protein, healthy fats, calcium and fibre. They are also very high in antioxidants, which are great for anti-aging, and Omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce cardiovascular disease risks. Moreover, one thing I love about chia pudding is that it’s very customisable and you can add the toppings you prefer to make your breakfast a little more exciting.
Chia Pudding
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of milk (you can use any type of milk you prefer)
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
Topping suggestions:
Berries (strawberries, blackberries ...)
Bananas
Cinnamon
Honey
Muesli
Coconut flakes
Instructions:
Pour 1/2 cup of milk to 2 tablespoons of chia seeds in an empty marmalade jar.
Shake the jar until it’s all mixed and place it in the refrigerator.
Leave for 1.5-2 hours until the chia have absorbed the milk and the pudding has formed.
Recommendation: Add some toppings before placing in the refrigerator so that the chia have some additional flavour.
