Hawaiian Kalua Pork
Submitted by: Paul Urzi and James Mouser
The Hawaiian Islands, the people of Hawaii, and the food of Hawaii have always given us a great deal of comfort. This recipe is one that we consider a true Hawaiian comfort food. Hawaiians traditionally prepare this in an underground oven, known as an imu. In fact the word kalua is a Hawaiian word that means to cook in an underground oven. When the Hawaiians don't have time to dig the pit for the underground oven, they substitute the crock pot to prepare Kalua Pork.
